  Frequently Asked Questions

Q          What are popular destinations for a wedding?

A          Our most popular destinations are Fiji and Rarotonga as there are frequent flights and it’s easy to obtain a Marriage License.  Vanuatu is becoming another popular destination with Tonia, our South Pacific Expert, travelling there in March 2012 to check out the top places to stay (click here to read more). We also advise and coordinate travel and accommodation for weddings in other destinations.

Q          How do I choose the right resort for my wedding?

A          Tonia visits popular resorts regularly and can advise from personal experience.  Discuss your thoughts and ideas with Tonia and she will be able to suggest resorts right for you.

Q          Can I choose between a beach or a chapel wedding?

A          Yes, some resorts have a chapel on site which can provide a more formal option to a beach wedding.

Q          Are children welcome at all resorts?

A          The majority of resorts are child-friendly with some having better facilities than others.  Tonia will be able to provide more detailed information on each resort.

Q          Can I choose my own menu for the reception?

A          All resorts can tailor-make a menu to suit all palates and budgets, buffet style or a la carte.

Q          Will the resort help with wedding arrangements once I’m there?

A          Each resort has their own wedding coordinator who Tonia will brief about your wedding arrangements.  This person will meet with you on arrival to go through the arrangements with you, and is dedicated to making your wedding run smoothly.

Q          How do I arrange hair and make-up, photography, etc?

A          Each resort provides a basic wedding package with optional additions such as hair and make-up, photography, video, flowers etc.  Some couples prefer to bring their own support people.

Q          What are the benefits of booking as a group?

A          By booking as a group space is reserved with an airline and the airfare is confirmed well in advance.  Also, by booking as a group, on payment of a deposit final payment is usually 6 weeks prior to departure instead of at the time of booking.  Group hotel rates will be negotiated, with the possibility of room upgrades for the bride and groom.

Q          What is a Personal Wedding Website?

A          We provide you a complimentary website that details all of your wedding and travel arrangements, including cost and extension options, to make it easy for your guests to join you on your special day – one less thing to worry about!  We encourage your guests to discuss their travel and accommodation needs directly with Tonia as she will have a complete understanding of your wedding plans.

Q          Can you help us with a Wedding Gift Register to fund our honeymoon?

A          Rather than receive a multitude of household gifts, you may prefer your guests to contribute to your very special holiday – your honeymoon.  We can set up your Register online enabling guests in New Zealand and overseas to contribute via credit card or bank deposit. Guests receive a Wedding Gift Voucher from us for their gift which they can send to you. We can provide details of who has given and how much, or it can be anonymous depending on the wishes of the bride and groom or the guests.

Q          Can you help with overseas travel to celebrate the renewal of wedding vows?

A          Absolutely!  See us for inspiring ideas for how to celebrate any special occasion, from the renewal of vows to an anniversary or birthday celebration.
